On Sunday, May 30, the day began with a walk from Follina through more
hillsides of Prosecco grapes to the wine producer at Riva del Tor.

|
Nina (and Joan and Irit) did the easy route, and so arrived at the Riva
del Tor a little earlier than the others. |
| Charlie, however, was exultant at having walked the more difficult route. |

|

|
April interpreted as the proprietor explained his family's Prosecco
business to us. |
| After the lecture, we all enjoyed two different types of Prosecco, along
with bread and cheese, and, of course, the requisite salume. |

|

|
Fortified by the Prosecco, April entertained us with her famous headstands
and cartwheels. |
Some of you may recall that Joan also took moving pictures of April's feat (as well as
some of Lucas rubbing his tummy and patting his head). If your computer has the
capability to play mpeg files, you can see April in motion by clicking .

After lunch in Combai (where we enjoyed a dog show and an amazing VW Beetle rally), we
travelled by minibus to the famous Palladian Villa Barbaro at Maser.
| Joan delighted in photographing Charlie in front of the Villa di Maser.
She still remembers listening to Professor Ackerman expound upon the principles of
Palladio's domestic architecture. |

|

|
The greatest attraction of the villa, though, lies in the trompe l'oeuil
frescoes by Veronese inside. Charlie was as charmed by them as Joan had predicted. |
